Friends, you probably noticed that the site looks different and I’m rocking a new name. This is a quick post to inform you of the name change and also the upcoming url redirect.
As a lot of you know I had been moving away from strictly marketing consulting and related work. It’s still a significant portion of the business strategy work I offer creative entrepreneurs, yet it’s not my sole focus. Back in December I had been feeling frustrated with work, feeling like I was meant to be offering more in the areas of branding, personal leadership, self-awareness and mindset. I started phasing out of anything “marketing” and letting this new vision come to light.
Since then, a lot of amazing opportunities have come my way and opportunities that are more in alignment with my values and work. Best of all, the work brings me more joy now.
Talking with another colleague and friend in August we mused how the name was no longer fitting. It sent me back to the drawing board, to my journal, and to some trusted friends for reflection, visioning and mind mapping exercises, to arrive at some new name ideas. A few will make sense for 1:1 coaching packages. A few make more sense to guide the visual element of this new name and brand. What I embraced though was Art & Connections.
Well, I had buried the artistic piece of me and my work for a little while. When I closed Piccadilly Arts, my former performing arts agency, I was ready to let go completely. That was fine. However, in the interim, it was the piece that was missing from my work. It came knocking until I finally opened the door and said, “Welcome back, old friend. We’re both older and wiser now, so let’s redefine how we make this look and work.”
So there will be some cool vision boarding workshops, art journaling workshops, and interviews with inspiring artists.
The connections piece touches on the current offerings – workshops, 1:1 coaching, speaking – while holding space for more ways to connect with clients and the community. I’ve been wondering how to best use my talents and my voice to make this world, particularly my local community a better more open and inclusive place, and wanting to produce some lectures and talks on social justice and the humanities.
So that’s the new name and it’s back story. Stay tuned for cool ideas later this fall.
